From local events to national and international TAGB competitions, our students have the opportunity to test their skills, build confidence and celebrate success.

Compete at any grade, matched to your height / weight and grade. Develop movement, timing, confidence and controlled contact.

Not every student has to compete but for those that want to, we provide encouragement, preparation and guidance.

In 2025 students from Nuneaton and Coventry Schools of TKD prepared to represent the club at the TAGB World Championships in Glasgow.

We came away with numerous medals to add to our tally from previous world championships . 

This is a huge achievement and reflects their commitment, discipline and hard work. 

DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO COMPETE?

No, there is no obligation or requirement for a student to compete,  however sparring is undertaken regularly within the class and as part of gradings.  

We encourage participation as part of a students growth but we recognise that its not for all students.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

A full set of TAGB approved sparring equipment  and a valid TAGB licence. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT EVENTS ARE AVAILABLE?

These can vary depending if it's a regional, national or World championship. Generally sparring, patterns, team sparring, team patterns and breaking (18yrs +) 

CAN BEGINNERS ENTER COMPETITIONS?

Yes from yellow stripe onwards. Students are grouped according to height / weight / grade to ensure it's a fair as possible. 

ARE COMPETITIONS SAFE?

They are very safe with TAGB trained medics and St. John's Ambulance in attendance. In over 25yrs of competitions I've only see a handful of severe injuries, normally twisted knees. You will encouter far more injuries on a junior or senior football or rugby pich at the weekend.
